Zeppelin rumors continue but here's one confirmation:
LED ZEPPELIN
bassist JOHN PAUL JONES has fuelled speculation the legendary band will
embark on a world tour by admitting there's a band meeting later this
month (Jan08). The veteran rockers have so far refused to confirm
rumours of a 2008 reunion tour, following their triumphant live return
at a benefit concert in London last month (Dec07). But Jones admits the
Stairway To Heaven group will meet to weigh up their options in the
coming weeks. He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "There is a band meeting
in January."
Happy New Year! Looks like 2008 will be a great year for Zeppelin
fans.
Led Zeppelin to play Bonnaroo?
This rumor now appears be truth.
From the Mirror.co.uk:
Led Zep for festival
Legends to headline music festival in new year
31/12/2007
Looks like Led Zeppelin's appetite for rock is well and truly back.
We can exclusively reveal that the legends - who staged a triumphant
"one-off" gig at the O2 this month - will be the headline act at the
Bonnaroo festival in the US next year.
The festival runs from June 12 to 15 in Tennessee - and if all goes
smoothly they may even hit the road and tour.
An insider told us: "This is the news that will drive their fans
absolutely wild.
"They have been bombarding their website to get back together for good
but only Robert Plant wasn't keen to commit.
"Now he's had a change of heart and if it goes well they are also
talking about touring."
The band have a huge following and continue to influence today's young
bands - sometimes in very mysterious ways.
Up and coming band Van Tramp were stunned when they realised they were
rehearsing in the studio next to the legends. But Jimmy Page and Robert
Plant were even more impressed. They asked a studio assistant: "Excuse
me, who's that playing in Room 4? They're great!"
And when Van Tramp left that night they discovered their debt for the
session had been cleared - most likely by their hero Plant.
The boys - Tim Howar, Patrick Mascall, Andy Tinning, Mike Potter and Guy
Snelgar - were overwhelmed.
A pal of the band said: "They were rehearsing at The Ritz studios in
Putney and couldn't believe their eyes when they realised that the men
walking down the corridor to the studio next door were none other than
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.
"The band wanted to go and introduce themselves but they were too shy.
But when they had packed up their gear and went to pay, they were told
by the assistant that a certain long-haired blonde man had approached
her at the desk and asked who they were.
"They believe Robert Plant then cleared their studio debt. They couldn't
believe it!"
The indie rock group release single Help Me Make It next month. If Led
Zep's opinion is anything to go by, it could be a very happy new year
for them.

Great and interesting articles regarding the Led Zeppelin reunion concert
and internet footage.
Setlist and brief review for the Led Zeppelin show from tonight from
NME.COM
'Good Times Bad Times'
"The set started with a clip from 'The Song Remains The Same' DVD with
an American news clip telling of they broke The Beatles' attendance
record for a gig in 1973 in California. Simple stage set, video screen
behind the band."
'Ramble On'
"'Ramble On' done in extremely slow, bluesy manner, with shards of
electric guitar from Jimmy Page."
'Black Dog'
"Page wearing dark shades, quite muddy sound. Crowd singing the 'ah-ah'
bits back at Plant."
'In My Time Of Dying'
"Page is playing bottleneck guitar. Plant spoke for the first time
before song, saying 'Good evening'."
'For Your Life'
"That's not something you get to hear often these days, Led Zeppelin
giving a song its live debut."
'Trampled Under Foot'
"Before starting Plant told the crowd it was the band's attempt to sound
like Robert Johnson's 'Terraplane Blues'."
'Nobody's Fault But Mine'
"There are huge screen's dominating the O2 Arena, they split into four
sometimes, goes monochrome, colour etc...quite spectacular. "
'No Quarter'
"Following the song Plant paid tribute to John Paul Jones, who played
keyboards and bass on the track."
'Since I've Been Loving You'
"A bit of a style guide for you, all the band are dressed in black bar
Page who is rocking a white shirt. As for the song they gone for the
epic version....very bluesy."
'Dazed And Confused'
"Settle yourselves in, we're expecting a ten minute version of this
classic... it was. At the end of it of the song Plant told the audience
'On guitar Jimmy Page, just as he did on 'The Song Remains The Same' DVD
which was filmed in Madison Square Garden in the 70s."
'Stairway To Heaven'
"What do you think happened? Right! From the moment those opening notes
rang out the whole audience went absolutely crazy. The atmosphere is
electric. Afterwards Plant said "Ahmet, we did it!"
'The Song Remains The Same'
'Misty Mountain Hop'
"Plant kicked this one off by praising the job drummer Jason Bonham has
been doing, stepping into his late father's shoes tonight."
'Kashmir'
"Yet another epic, as this song cracks the ten minute mark. Plant
introduced this one declaring 'We've got people from 50 countries here
and this is the 51st'. Afterwards they left the stage to loud applause.
Will they do an encore? What do you reckon..."
'Whole Lotta Love'
"... of course they come back to deafening applause. And it's an
extended version of the old 'Top Of The Pops' theme. Then once more the
band leave the stage with a visibly emotional Plant declaring:
'Thanks to everybody. Thanks Ahmet Ertegun, this one for is Ahmet
Ertegun as we remember the days when Atlantic Records was the best label
on the planet!'."
'Rock And Roll'
"Just time for one more, as after two hours the night reaches its
climax, and what a stomper to go out on. And after the hype, the
millions of people who entered the ticket ballot and the speculation,
Led Zeppelin's reunion show is over. A one off? We dearly hope not."
Grammy Nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals including the other
songs they are going up against:
"Steppin' Out" — Tony Bennett & Christina

Led Zeppelin - The Song
Remains the Same - November 20th - Purchase
2 CD Set/Deluxe
Set - This should have been the album when it
came out over 30 years ago. The two disc set features much more music
and does a better job to balance out the marathon tracks. For those of
you who have the bootlegs from those 1973 shows you know how good those
shows were, these New York shows were no exception (even if the running
order is slightly different). This is a great upgrade to the version of
the Song Remains the Same that you probably already own. If you don't
then, pick this one up! By the way the sound on the drum solo in Moby
Dick is incredible and to hear Heartbreaker go into Whole Lotta Love
like it was met it be is great. By the way, this version of Whole Lotta
Love is not like the one on the original album. (2 CD Set/Deluxe
Set)

Led
Zeppelin's
The Mothership 2CD/1
DVD set was released today. The running order of the CD is done
by chronological album release order but the tracks featured from each
album aren't in the same running order as the original album they came
from. This set is a good reminder of just how good Led Zeppelin's music
is. The packaging features a very nice essay on the band and mentions
brief highlights of every song. Even if you every songs story it's still
a pretty good read. There's 24 songs on this site and with any
compilation package it's easy to say where's "Fool In the Rain" or
"Gallows Pole." What is on the CD though is very good and if it's been a
while since you listened to your Zeppelin albums this is a nice
refresher as it takes its way through the bands history. Listener to
this CD will probably bring back memories of when you first purchased a
Led Zeppelin album or cassette, this will be a fun trip down memory
lane. There's also a limited edition DVD which features quite a few
tracks from the Led Zeppelin DVD of a few years ago.

LED ZEPPELIN CONCERT POSTPONED UNTIL DECEMBER 10TH
The heavily anticipated reunion of the surviving members of Led
Zeppelin, scheduled for November 26th at the O2 Arena in London , has
been postponed until December 10th. According to a press statement, the
concert, a tribute to late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, has
been pushed back because Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page fractured a
finger. The injury, which Page sustained this past weekend, will keep
him from picking up a guitar for three weeks, after which a specialist
said that Page will be able to resume rehearsals for the rescheduled
show.
Page said in the statement, "I am disappointed that we are forced to
postpone the concert by two weeks. However, Led Zeppelin have always set
very high standards for ourselves, and we feel that this postponement
will enable my injury to properly heal, and permit us to perform at the
level that both the band and our fans have always been accustomed to."
* All tickets for the show, which were sold through a worldwide lottery,
will be valid for the rescheduled date.
* Anyone unable to attend the show on December 10th will be able to
receive a full refund until noon U.K. time on November 14th. Tickets
available as a result of refunds will be offered to random ballot
winners drawn from the original lottery. Information on obtaining a
refund can be found at ahmettribute.com.
* The show will feature Page, singer Robert Plant and bassist John Paul
Jones performing together for the first time in 18 years, with Jason
Bonham, son of late Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, sitting behind the
kit. Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Paul Rodgers, Paolo Nutini, and
Foreigner are also scheduled to appear.

ROBERT PLANT RULES OUT FULL LED ZEPPELIN TOUR
Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant has nixed the idea of a
full tour by the band following its November 26th reunion concert at
London's O2 Arena, according to the U.K.'s Daily Express. Plant
told the newspaper, "We need to do one last great show, because we've done
some shows and they've been crap." But the 59-year-old vocalist added that
he was seriously considering retiring after the event, explaining, "I know
I'm getting on. When I do come back from touring I'm shocked to find a lot
of my mates tend to be going to bed far too early and that means I should
probably be doing the same. Maybe I should stop having a good time and get
old."
Tens of millions of fans attempted to enter a lottery last month to
buy tickets for the November concert. Just 20,000 tickets will be made
available for the show. Winners are scheduled to be notified by Monday
(October 1st), at which time they'll be allowed to purchase two tickets
for $250 each.
Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones
will be joined on drums by late Zeppelin drummer John Bonham's
son Jason.
The concert, a tribute to late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet
Ertegun, will feature warm-up sets from Pete Townshend,
Bill Wyman and Paolo Nutini.
Plant, meanwhile, recently recorded an album called Raising Sand
with bluegrass artist Alison Krauss, which arrives on October
23rd.
After much speculation Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones are
getting back together for one more show with Jason Bonham on the drums.
How do you get tickets? Tickets will only be available to those who
register on a dedicated website,
ahmettribute.com,
and will be limited to two successful applications per household.
Here is a BBC article:
Led Zeppelin confirm reunion gig
The surviving members of legendary rock group Led Zeppelin are to reform
for a star-studded tribute concert in London. Singer Robert Plant,
guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will play at the show to
remember the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. The one-off
concert, the trio's first performance for 19 years, will take place at the
O2 arena on 26 November. Tickets will cost £125 and be allocated by
ballot. Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and Paolo Nutini will also perform.
Ertegun, who signed Led Zeppelin in 1968, died last year.
The place of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who died in 1980, will be
taken by his son Jason.
Plant said: "During the Zeppelin years, Ahmet Ertegun was a major
foundation of solidarity and accord. "For us, he was Atlantic Records and
remained a close friend and conspirator. This performance stands alone as
a tribute to the work and life of a longstanding friend." The news is
likely to spark a huge rush for tickets as devoted fans scramble to get
into what could be the band's last show.
Tickets will only be available to those who register on a dedicated
website, ahmettribute.com, and will be limited to two successful
applications per household. With their pounding, blues-influenced anthems
and explosive stadium shows, Led Zeppelin paved the way for artists across
the worlds of heavy metal and alternative rock. Their best-known songs
include Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, Rock and Roll, Kashmir and
Communication Breakdown - although they never released singles in the UK.
Led Zeppelin's last full concert was in Berlin in July 1980 - two months
before John Bonham died.
Page, Plant and Jones performed at Live Aid five years later, and also get
back together at a concert to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Atlantic
Records in 1988. But a rift between Jones and the other two band members
opened after Page and Plant started working together without him in the
1990s. Rumours of a reconciliation surfaced several years ago, leading to
speculation about a reunion. Harvey Goldsmith, who is promoting the
concert, said that he had originally asked the three band members to play
a 30-minute set.
"Jason Bonham became part of the catalyst, and they did a week's
rehearsal," he said. "We had a meeting and Robert turned around and said
we're not going to do 30 minutes, we're doing to do a whole set." "It's a
day I never thought would come," said Dave Lewis, editor of Led Zeppelin
fan magazine Tight But Loose. "The four people on stage in 2007 - wake me
up, I'm dreaming!" The concert coincides with the release of a new two-CD
best of compilation, Mothership, on 13 November. Profits from the show
will go towards scholarships in Ertegun's name in UK, the USA and Turkey,
the country of his birth. His wife Mica said: "He would be very proud that
Led Zeppelin have chosen to reunite and headline a benefit concert in his
name featuring so many of his friends.
"I would like to thank all of the artists for their generous contribution
to help make Ahmet's vision a reality."
Goldsmith said Ertegun "became a friend and was my mentor". "Our industry
deeply misses such a giant of music," he said. "It is a fitting tribute
that these great artists have all come together to perform in his memory."
He also warned that tickets being sold on the black market would be
cancelled. Paolo Nutini, Ertegun's last UK signing, went on to score a hit
album last year. "He touched my life with his amazing personality and
opened a few doors when I was starting my career," he said. "He was a
special guy, a real gentleman and it's such a shame he's gone but a
massive tribute that all his music lives on - and will do forever."
After many and I do mean many rumors. It
does appear that there will be some sort of Led Zeppelin reunion. Perhaps
one gig? More? Here's an article from Billboard
Could this be the first time since 95 they'll play together? Has it been
that long?
By Ray Waddell, Nashville
Talk of a Led Zeppelin reunion just refuses to go away.
Billboard reported in July that the band may get together for a proposed
tribute
to the late producer/record mogul Ahmet Ertegun at the O2 in London in
November (Billboard, Aug. 4).
Now on
ledzeppelin.comthe date 11.13.07 mysteriously appears with the familiar Zep
symbols. And several people saw the band touring the O2 during Prince's
recent stand at the new 20,000-seat London arena. A press conference next
Wednesday (Sept. 12) in London may clear everything up.
There has been talk that tour producers AEG Live and Michael Cohl's CPI
(Rolling Stones, Genesis, Barbra Streisand) have put in offers on a Zep
tour featuring founding members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul
Jones with late drummer John "Bonzo" Bonham's son Jason on drums. But it
is also well-known in the industry that standing offers have been on the
table for a Led Zeppelin tour for more than a decade.
Nov. 13 also has another significance: it's the drop date of a new
Atlantic/Rhino two-disc, 24-track best-of set, "Mothership." Additionally,
a deluxe reissue of the soundtrack to the 1976 concert film "The Song
Remains the Same" with previously unreleased material and a new DVD
edition of that movie will arrive Nov. 20 via Atlantic/Rhino and Warner
Home Video, respectively.

Zeppelin reunion rumors
Just about every other month there seems to be another Zeppelin Reunion
story. This one went as far as letting people book trips to see the band.
Here's the first article about the "reunion" and then the second one
saying it's not happening. The second one came up before Robert had a
chance to shoot it down.
Stairlift to heaven ... Led Zep at O2 (Original
Article)
By Louise Jury, Evening Standard August 31, 2007
Legendary rockers Led Zeppelin look set to re-form and play the O2 arena
this autumn. There has been no official announcement that they will
perform again 27 years after the group disbanded following the death of
drummer John Bonham but advertisements appeared in the national press
today with top-price ticket and hotel packages on offer for £369. A
cheaper package from the Premier Entertainments company, including a night
in a four-star hotel, is available for £269. Callers today were told:
"It's just about to be officially announced." Speculation had been
mounting for some time that the band would get back together soon. The
three surviving members - John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page -
reunited at the Live Aid concert in Philadelphia in 1985 for a short set
with Phil Collins as one of the stand-in drummers. The band's albums and
song Stairway To Heaven have remained popular and a new best-of album is
due this year.
Led Zep Ticket Row (Original
Article)
Fans warned not to buy from touts
Septmeber 2, 2007 - Promoters are taking action after tickets for a
rumoured Led Zeppelin comeback gig are being advertised. Despite no
official confirmation from the band, hotel and ticket packages are being
sold for upwards of £269 for gigs at London's O2 Arena. The company
offering the deal has now been reported to the Department of Culture,
Media and Sport (DCMS). Promoter Harvey Goldsmith has issued a statement
to warn the fans not to fall victiom to ticket touts: "There have been at
least four events advertised which I suspect either don't exist or where
no tickets are on sale or indeed dates finalized. These are the very
people whom our industry has spent over a year trying to convince the DCMS
to instigate outlawing. The media should consider the consequences of
giving credibility to those who rip the public off. There are NO packages
or tickets for some the events advertised at all, nor do some of the
events even exist. We are concerned that the public will be fleeced. The
bottom line is that unless official adverts have appeared for concerts,
tickets are not on sale. Do not buy from unauthorized sources.” There are
NO packages or tickets for some the events advertised at all, nor do some
of the events even exist. Harvey Goldsmith is promoting Bruce
Springsteen's date and confirms that tickets are sold out and that there
are no packages available at this time. There is still no official word on
whether Led Zeppelin's rumoured comeback will happen.

"We
have revisited The Song Remains The
Same," says Jimmy Page, "and can now offer the complete set as
played at Madison Square Garden . This differs substantially from the
original soundtrack released in 1976, and highlights the technical prowess
of Kevin Shirley, who worked with us on How The West Was Won. When it
comes to The Song Remains The Same,
the expansion of the DVD and soundtrack are as good as it gets on the Led
Zeppelin wish list."

No Honeydrippers 2? From Launch:
ROBERT PLANT SAYS LABEL HEAD'S DEATH
MEANS NO NEW HONEYDRIPPERS ALBUM
The recent death of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun has
caused Robert Plant to cancel plans for a new Honeydrippers
album. Plant and Ertegun had been talking about doing a second
Honeydrippers record, to follow up on the first one that was
released back in 1984. Plant told LAUNCH that the two men were excited
about the project: "We'd been in touch. I knew he was thrilled with
the idea of it -- (it was) something that we were both looking
forward to." But when Ertegun died last month, Plant felt it
wouldn't have worked without the contributions from his old friend, so
the project was scrapped.

ROBERT PLANT TO
RESURRECT THE HONEYDRIPPERS FOR CHARITY GIG
For the second time in less than two months, Robert Plant will resurrect
his side project the Honeydrippers
in the U.K. to raise money for a neighbor. The first gig was December
23rd in
Worcestershire, and now Plant has booked the Honeydrippers at the
club JBs in Dudley on Valentine's Day (February 14th), according to the
British newspaper The Express &
Star. Just like in December, proceeds from the show will go
to help a friend named Jackie
Jennings pay for a special type of brain cancer treatment
that costs 100,000 pounds, or about $193,000.
Plant's 1984 album, called The Honeydrippers: Volume One,
featured his Led Zeppelin
partner Jimmy Page,Jeff Beck, and others.
There's been no word yet on who might be on stage with him at the club
next month.
The Honeydrippers album was reissued in
November as part of the Plant box set called Nine Lives.

drums and backing vocals by Mo Birch and another girl.

Ahmet Ertegun founder of Atlantic Records passes away
Ahmet brought so many artists to Atlantic including Led Zeppelin,
Ray Charles, Rolling Stones, CSNY, just to name a few. He became ill
back in October at a Rolling Stones show.
Here's
an article that covers his life and career. He was also recently on
the Robert Plant Nine Lives DVD talking about Plant's solo career. Plant
also talked about Ahmet and working with him and the Honeydrippers
album. Ahmet was 83.

Nine Lives was released in November featuring Plant's 8 solo albums
that were remastered and expanded, the Honeydrippers album and a DVD.
The Box set features some nice packaging and a booklet covering all of
Plant's work album by album. There are also some never before seen
photographs as well. The earlier albums benefited the most from the
remastering and while there could have been a few other bonus tracks
thrown in like the live version of Easily Lead on the Shaken 'N' Stirred
disc and a few remixes, every thing is here. What's not is on Sixty Six
to Timbuktu. For those who know these albums quite well you'll notice
some differences. An enjoyable Box Set, great for the bonus material and
if you don't own all of Plant's work this is a great place to get
everything at once.
Order your copy
Disc 1 - Pictures at Eleven
This album gets an upgrade in sound. Bonus Material includes the
B-Side Far Post and a great live version of Like I've Never
Been Gone.
Disc 2 - Principle of Moments
Gets a nice retouch and features the Previously unreleased Turnaround
which may remind you of Heartbreaker, Plus a live version of In The
Mood, Thru with the Two Step, and Lively Up Yourself
which was played in the middle of Horizontal Departure.
Disc 3 - Honeydrippers Volume 1
This EP features the 5 songs plus a live version of Rockin' At
Midnight for a bonus track.
Disc 4 - Shaken 'N' Stirred
This album probably got the biggest benefit from being remastered as
the drums stand out a lot more than before. Songs like Hip To Hoo and
Kallalou Kallalou sound much better than before. The bonus track
includes the remixed version of Little By Little.
Disc 5 - Now and Zen
This album included three bonus tracks including two soundboard cuts
from a Plant bootleg that was circulated a few years ago. Surprisingly
that this version of Tall Cool One was used since Plant sang the
first line of the song twice. The Ship of Fools version from 93
is great.
Disc 6 - Manic Nirvana
Besides the three non album B-sides there's no other bonus material
on the CD.
Disc 7 - Fate of Nations
One of Plant's best albums also features a lot of bonus material
including a demo version of a song called Roller Coaster which
may have turned into Promised Land. A few B-sides like 8:05,
Dark Moon, and Great Spirit are also on the disc. The
remastered version of this album sounds great. Great Spirit and
Greatest Gift stand out quite well.
Disc 8 - Dreamland
As Dirt in a Hole and a Remix of Last Time I Saw Her as
bonus tracks.
Disc 9 - Mighty Rearranger
Bonus material includes remixes for The Enchanter, Tin Pin
Valley, and Shine It All Around. There are also two non album
tracks on the CD as well.
Disc 10 - Includes all 20 of Plant's solo music videos. Some
of these have been rarely seen including Shine It All Around. For those
who have dubbed copies of Plant's videos from the 80s this is a great
upgrade. There's also a documentary that covers Plant's solo career.
Plant talks about each album and a good number of key tracks on the CD.
Phil Collins, Roy Harper, Tori Amos, and Roger Daltrey are a few artists
who talk about working with Plant. In the documentary there is also some
studio footage of If I Were a Carpenter and Plant working with Rainer
Ptacek.

NINE LIVES has been released.
Nine Lives is now out in stores and is available online. The
packaging is pretty nice for the box set and features most of Plant's
work. If you don't have all of Plant's albums this isn't a bad purchase
at all, the DVD features quite a footage. The live stuff from the first
two albums sound great.

PLANT WORKING ON DUETS ALBUM WITH COUNTRY STAR
Robert Plant has been spotted out and about in Nashville
recently, but he's not on vacation. According to the Tenneseean
newspaper, the Led Zeppelin frontman is working on a duets project with
country and bluegrass star Alison Krauss. There's no word on how
far along the sessions are or when it might be released, but the paper
holds the idea of a Krauss/Plant album in high esteem, saying, "They
should probably go ahead and book their trips to the 2008 Grammy
Awards."$

ROBERT PLANT TO RELEASE PBS PERFORMANCE ON DVD
Robert
Plant's appearance on the PBS series Soundstage will be released on DVD
October 24th as Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation. The show took
place in Chicago on September 16th, 2005, and it was shot in
high-definition and mixed in 5.1 SurroundSound.
The 66-minute performance with Plant's band the Strange Sensation
features reinterpretations of such Led Zeppelin standards as "No
Quarter," "Black Dog," "Whole Lotta Love," and "Four Sticks," which is
dedicated to the late John Bonham. It also features music from Plant's
solo career, and cover versions of "Hey Joe" and Bob Dylan's "Girl From
The North Country." Plant said, "The spirit of rock-and-roll is live
performance. Studio recordings can be captivating, and live albums can
capture some of the synergy in a concert, but there is really nothing
like being in the moment when the music is connecting you to the people
-- it's truly a communion."
He added, "It's quite something to watch successive generations of music
fans discover and appreciate your work. It's kind of like rediscovering
the world through a child's eyes. You find fresh nuances in the music
and the songs continue to grow with a life of their own. As I've
explored the rich musical traditions of North Africa and the Middle
East, elements of those musics have worked their way into some of the
most unlikely songs -- and that kind of constant reinvention keeps your
creativity piqued."
There's also a Plant box set called Nine Lives coming November 14th. It
has all of his post-Led Zeppelin albums, along with a DVD of interviews,
music videos, and other material.
The track listing for the Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation DVD
includes: "No Quarter," "Shine It All Around," "Black Dog," "Freedom
Fries," "Four Sticks," "Tin Pan Valley," "Gallows Pole," "The
Enchanter," and "Whole Lotta Love," along with the bonus tracks "Hey
Joe" and "Girl From The North Country."

ROBERT PLANT TO DO BENEFIT FOR NEIGHBOR'S MEDICAL EXPENSES
Robert Plant will stage a benefit show near his home to help
offset the medical expenses for one of his neighbors. Plant and a group
that's being billed as "TheReturn Of The Honeydrippers"
will play the Kidderminster Town Hall in Worcestershire, England, on
December 23rd, and the proceeds will go to a local woman named Jackie
Jennings. Jennings had a brain tumor removed in January 2004, but
it's returned, and she needs to have some specialized treatment in
Boston. The therapy costs 100,000 pounds, and Plant hopes to raise
25,000 pounds at the show to go along with the 75,000 pounds that
Jennings has already secured. A family friend told Britain's Express
And Star newspaper, "Robert knows Jackie from living in the area,
and as soon as he heard about her, he wanted to get involved. We are so
grateful to Robert because he will give us a good chance of reaching the
sum in time. Every minute is crucial for Jackie."It's unknown who the
members of the Return Of The Honeydrippers are. Plant released an album
in 1984 called The Honeydrippers: Volume One that featured his
Led Zeppelin partner Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, among
others.

ROBERT PLANT ALBUMS REBORN WITH NINE LIVES
Boxed Set from Rhino Features Remastered and Expanded Versions of
Plant's
Nine Studio Albums Including Bonus and Unreleased Songs
Plus a DVD Compilation of Music Videos from Each
Album That Includes Interviews and Rare Bonus Footage
Available November 21 From Rhino Records
LOS ANGELES - Driven by an insatiable artistic curiosity, Robert Plant
has
spent his life as a singer and songwriter chasing new sounds,
rediscovering
ancient ones and bringing them both together to create something
original.
Throughout his career - first as a member of Led Zeppelin and then as a
solo artist for the past 25 years * Plant has tapped a multifarious
array
of inspirations that span the globe and the ages including Celtic and
English folk, American blues, early rock 'n' roll, psychedelic rock and
jazz as well as Arabic, Moroccan, West African and Indian music. After
nine
acclaimed solo albums - seven with Atlantic Records - Plant remains a
restless spirit destined to a life of musical wanderlust.
Rhino Records captures each of Plant's musical reincarnations with NINE
LIVES. The boxed set features all nine of Plant's solo albums remastered
and expanded with bonus tracks that include previously unreleased
material.
The collection also contains a DVD compilation of Plant's solo music
videos
along with a career-spanning interview and rare bonus footage. The boxed
set is available November 7 at regular retail outlets and at
www.rhino.com
for a suggested price of $99.98.
Designer Graham Baker Smith created the deluxe packaging, which also
includes extensive liner notes and a history of each album by journalist
Ed
Vulliamy.
Plant began his solo career in 1982 with PICTURES AT ELEVEN. Backed by a
group that included guitarist Robbie Blunt and drummer Phil Collins *
Plant
created an eclectic mix of soundscapes that openly eschewed rehashing
Led
Zeppelin's hard rock legacy. Peaking at #5 on the Billboard Album chart,
Plant's debut featured the single "Burning Down One Side." Playing with
new
musicians after 12 years with Led Zeppelin was hard at first, "but it
turned out to be a lot easier than I had envisioned," Plant explains in
the
liner notes. "I found I wanted to pour out my soul once the door was
open.
From then on I was ready to work with anybody." The expanded version
includes a pair of bonus songs: "Far Post" and a live version of the
album
track "Like I've Never Been Gone," recorded in Houston in 1983.
THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS, Plants' sophomore solo album, refined the
sound
of its predecessor and built on the group's songwriting chemistry to
create
a personal and intense collection of songs. The single, "Big Log,"
cracked
Billboard's Top 20 and became Plant's first solo hit. The album also
featured the songs "In The Mood," "Other Arms" and "Horizontal
Departure."
The expanded version includes live performances of "In The Mood" and
"Thru'
With The Two Step," a cover of Bob Marley's "Lively Up Yourself" and the
previously unreleased track "Turnaround."
Plant changed pace completely in 1984 with THE HONEYDRIPPERS: VOLUME
ONE,
an EP that celebrated Plant's first musical love with covers of rock
from
of the '50s and '60s featuring guest appearances by Jeff Beck and Jimmy
Page. A tantalizingly small collection of gems, the album featured five
tracks including Ray Charles' "I Got A Woman," Roy Brown's "Rockin' At
Midnight" and a song that became an international hit for Plant, a cover
of
"Sea Of Love." The expanded version includes a live version of "Rockin'
At
Midnight."
Plant returned in 1985 with another sonic departure, SHAKEN 'N' STIRRED.
Joined by former Little Feat drummer Ritchie Hayward, Plant recorded an
album that was both musically innovative and yet of its time. "It was
important to get away from the standard idea of rock," Plant writes in
the
liner notes. "It's the feel of the time, it's the adventure of music at
the
time, and the adventure of the technology." The album, which reached
Billboard's Top 20, includes the hit singles "Little By Little" and
"Sixes
And Sevens." The expanded version includes a remixed version of "Little
By
Little."
NOW AND ZEN - Plant's 1988 album - marked a new beginning that saw him
embracing his musical past while moving forward. Inspired by his
powerhouse
band - including keyboardist and songwriting partner Phil Johnstone,
drummer Chris Blackwell, bassist Phil Scragg and guitarist Doug Boyle -
Plant recorded a passionate album filled with attitude. Titled after a
1959
Wailers instrumental, the smash single "Tall Cool One" featured a cameo
by
Zep guitarist Jimmy Page, whose dive-bombing guitar provided the song's
signature lick. Peaking at #6 on Billboard's Album chart, NOW AND ZEN
also
features "Heaven Knows," "Dance On My Own," and the moody "Ship Of
Fools."
The expanded version includes live versions of several album cuts.
MANIC NIRVANA, released in 1990, built on Plant's harder edge for much
of
the album before giving way - on the second half - to a reflective,
symphonic sound. The album's stylistic dichotomy is embodied by the
album
opener-the rocking "Hurting Kind (I've Got My Eyes On You)"-and the
album
closer "Watching You," which includes Moroccan chromatics and West
African
drumming. The album also includes "Tie Dye On The Highway," "Big Love"
and
"I Cried." The expanded version features "One Love" and "Don't Look
Back"
as well as "Oompa (Watery Bint)," which was released as a promo single
B-side.
Released in 1993, FATE OF NATIONS marks another shift in Plant's musical
palette. For this album, Plant returned to the folk origins that ran
quietly beneath much of Led Zeppelin's music while incorporating the
more
mystical roots of bands like Traffic, Fairport Convention and especially
Tim Hardin, who Plant covers with "If I Were A Carpenter." The result is
a
collection of songs that mix acoustic and natural-sounding instruments
to
create music that is epic, adventurous and deeply challenging. The album
features the songs "Calling To You," "29 Palms" and a pair of overtly
political tracks, "Network News" and "Great Spirit," an anthemic prayer
that calls out for healing. The expanded version includes "Dark Moon,"
"8:05," a demo version of "Rollercoaster" culled from Plant's archives,
the
B-side version of "Great Spirit" and "Colours Of A Shade," a song
previously unreleased in the UK and Japan.
After collaborating with Jimmy Page on several projects, Plant returned
in
2002 on Universal Records with the Grammy nominated DREAMLAND, a
collection
of covers - plus two originals - that are as compelling as they are
idiosyncratic. For the first album with his new band Strange Sensation,
Plant brings together songs that inspired him over the years including
Tim
Buckley's "Song To The Siren," bluesman Bukka White's "Funny In My Mind
(I
Believe I'm Fixin' To Die)," "One More Cup Of Coffee" by Bob Dylan and
"Skip's Song" by Skip Spence, the enigmatic member of Moby Grape. The
expanded version includes a remix of the original track "Last Time I Saw
Her," and "Dirt In A Hole," a song previously only available in the UK,
Japan and Australia.
MIGHTY REARRANGER, this twice Grammy nominated album was released last
year
on Sanctuary Records and is Plant's first album of original material
with
Strange Sensation. The album represents a culmination of Plant's
experience
and contains songs imbued with a quarter century of his musical vision.
The
music is instantly infectious and dynamic with shimmering Indo-Arabic
accents. Cracking the Top 25 of Billboard's Album chart, the album
featured
the hit single "Shine It All Around," the rockabilly-inflected "Freedom
Fries," and "Brother Ray," a bluesy piano tribute to Ray Charles. The
expanded version includes "Red, White And Blue," "All The Money In The
World," remixes of "Tin Pan Valley," "Shine It All Around," and "The
Enchanter" remixed by James Lavelle.
The DVD includes 20 of Plant's solo music videos along with a
career-spanning interview, rare performance footage and interviews with
friends such as former Atlantic Records President Ahmet Ertegun, singer
and
songwriter Tori Amos, tennis star John McEnroe, drummer Phil Collins and
more. The DVD also includes Plant's performance of "Song To The Siren"
recorded during a session for VH1's Storytellers series.

A few new videos have been added to the Multimedia page. One is the
Dutch TV appearance from 1983 with Plant dong "live" versions of Big Log
and In The Mood. The odd part about the video is that even though Phil
Collins did the drums for the tour, he's not with Plant on this
appearance and to my knowledge the drummer's name hasn't been revealed.
At the end of In The Mood, watch Plant's reaction, he seems surprised
that the song ends early.
The other new video is Robert's solo set from the Atlantic 40th
Celebration featuring 3 songs from Now and Zen.

LED ZEPPELIN PRINCIPALS SET FOR MONTREUX JAZZ FEST
It's still too early to tell for sure, but there just might be some
Led Zeppelin-related activity this year. Singer Robert Plant and
guitarist Jimmy Page are both confirmed for a tribute to Atlantic
Records head Ahmet Ertegun at the Montreux Jazz Festival on June 30th,
and the fan-run but highly reliable led-zeppelin.com website reports
that Plant and Page "are scheduled to perform together" at the event.
Rumors have been circulating about a one-off Led Zeppelin show in Europe
this summer, Plant, Page, and bassist John Paul Jones being joined by
drummer Jason Bonham, the son of late Zep drummer John Bonham. Jason
Bonham currently plays with Foreigner, and they have a show booked in
London on June 30th. Representatives for Jones and Bonham told us they
were unaware of possible Led Zeppelin work.
A couple of years ago Page and Plant played at this event which
featured Candy Store Rock. I believe without looking it up that that was
the last show they played together. Don't know what this will lead too.
Let the rumors begin.
More on Arthur Lee... correction on what he's been diagnosed with
Arthur has AML, Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, not ALL has previously
reported.
Last month as this new layout was being prepared this site was moved
onto a new server. One page that was popular with this site someone
didn't make it and we'll have to be rebuilt again. It's the Get The Led
Out page. It was pretty popular and I received a lot of emails on it.
Any input you have would be great. You can email what you
have here. Thank you.

Here's an update for some upcoming tribute
for Arthur Lee. They are being put together at this website:
www.thelovesociety.com
Wednesday, April 19th
I received an email today about the videos on the site and if I would
be adding more. That's a definite yes, you'll see some videos on here
that hasn't been seen in a long time. By the way check out the
Multimedia page if you get a chance you can watch the videos to Burning
Down One Side and Little By Little just to name a few. Now that the
layout is done the site will expand internally.
In a bit of sad news that has also made it's way onto the message
board: Arthur Lee was diagnosed with ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
in early February 2006. He is presently in the hospital for the third
time this year & undergoing his second course of chemotherapy. Let's
hope for the best. He made some great music and was a big influence on
Robert.

The new layout is here. I know this my take some getting used to. Hope
you like it..
Feedback is always welcome.
Take a look around and check out the new videos and setlists layouts. This
took longer than I thought it would be every so often you have to add a
coat of paint to something. Thanks for 10 great years!
